What cool thing can I do with a 486 sub-notebook?
10 Jul | 06Thursday & Friday I did my monthly backup in Napa, and I also picked up an entire truckload of old Macs. Almost all are 6100/7100 class Performas, there are also a couple of old 68k Macs too. All were working when stored a couple of years ago, although I may have to go back and look for the cables, I don't think I got them all. My mom also gave me her old HP Omnibook 600C. It's a 75mhz 486DX4 with a small dual-scan color screen. She also tossed in a cue-cat she got at radio...

Remains of a good 4th
10 Jul | 06Yah, I'm a little slow in getting this posted. Had to go right back to work after the 4th and have been working every day since. Party was great. Everyone really enjoyed the Skee Ball. I even had it spitting out tickets and had prizes people could "earn." With the Skee Ball on free-play though it was kind of pointless, but people thought it was fun anyway. Next party I think I will see about putting the Skee Ball on a different size token than my other machines and give people...

So much to buy, so little info!
29 Jun | 06Ok, I'm excited! Fireworks went on sale here yesterday. Right after noon I ran around to several of the nearby booths to get flyers and other info. The two Phantom booths I went to weren't setup yet so all I got was their flyer. TNT Freedom and TNT Red Devil both carry the same things, not sure why they need to have two different names. I was able to get a TNT flyer as well as some bad photos of a poster that details what comes in the variety packs. My friend Pat also dug up info from...

Got my very first jukebox!
20 Jun | 06After years of searching, I finally picked up my first jukebox on Sunday. I have been looking for an AMI model C that I could afford for about 3 years. Back when I first got into the arcade thing, I was at my parents house discussing the stuff that used to be in the basement at my grandma's house. One of the things that was there was a jukebox, but we had no idea how old it was or what model or anything. After doing some searches on the internet for pictures we decided that it was probably...

Put a scrolling LED display in your computer for less than $20
28 Apr | 06This is sort of an expansion & howto on my previous post of scroll a message on my cable box . I finally got around to building a new 8 digit display and mounting the whole thing in place of my floppy drive. The total cost for this project was less than $20. The most expensive parts were the 7 segment displays and the ICM7218 chip. I used 0.56" tall digits. It took 4 of the LED packages to get 8 characters. The width of all of them together was exactly the same as a floppy! First...
