Upholstered Milk Crates
31 Dec | 12As usual I procrastinated on deciding what I wanted to get people for Christmas. By the time I got around to looking at my sister's Wishzilla, there wasn't much left and not much that was very inspirational. I happened to think of looking at her Pinterest instead, and while it was mostly outdoor landscaping ideas, there was just enough there to give me an idea. If you follow me on twitter you probably saw I was messing around with OSB and experimenting with what kind of joinery I could...

Pull out bins
03 Jul | 12In the cabinet under my microwave I store all the plastic containers and every time I want to find a container the right size I have to dig around on my hands and knees, all the while having containers spilling all over on the floor. Step stools
08 Jun | 12I made these step stools based on one my dad built, which was based on stools his dad built. The light green one in the back is the one I grew up with. Book Bin
14 May | 12My sister had added a request for a custom made book bin/shelf to my niece's Wishzilla . She said she needed something to get the books off her bed because it made it hard to sleep on and the books would also fall down between the bed and the wall. This was made to my sister's specifications. It is made of clear pine which she later painted. The design is fairly simple, with the curves and routed profile on the ends. There is no back on it since the wall should keep the books from...

Kitchen for the Office
04 May | 12Completed cabinet After moving into our new office it became clear that we needed a cabinet for our kitchen area. The microwave was balanced on top of the mini fridge, and all the kitchen supplies were piled precariously on top of the microwave. The slightest bump would cause the whole pile to come crashing down, often into the garbage can. The space available for the cabinet was very limited. I wanted something counter height but as shallow as I could get away with. I made it 3 feet wide...
